Process before tools
A dashboard does not fix a broken process: it makes it visible. That is useful, but not sufficient. Hence the Lean dimension.
Why it changes the conversation
Most dashboard requests are really process requests. When a report takes two weeks a month, the question is not “which tool” but “why two weeks”. Lean supplies the vocabulary and the discipline to ask it without putting teams on the defensive — and to measure the resulting gain.
Where Lean actually applies
- A monthly close whose duration must come down from two weeks to a few days.
- An approval chain where nobody knows which step creates the wait.
- A master file nobody dares modify, now the bottleneck for an entire team.
- A data exchange between two functions that breaks at every change of format — better standardised once than repaired each month.
And AI governance
The AI Governance / Strategy certification covers the part organisations most often take in reverse: deciding where AI creates value, under what data quality and ownership conditions, and with what controls. In practice it becomes one simple rule we apply on every engagement — no AI initiative until the master data holds.
